J.H. Eichentopf Oboe d’Amore $2,100. (German, 1st half of 18th century) This is the transposing oboe in the key of A which was used extensively by Bach in many of his cantatas. It features a bulb-shaped bell. Two keys, 3rd & 4th holes doubled. |

J.H. Eichentopf Oboe da Caccia $3,100. (German, 1st half of 18th century) This instrument, a variant of the taille de hautbois, is in the key of F. It is curved, covered with leather and has a large, flared brass bell. The curving bore produces a unique pastoral sound, essential for the many important obbligatos that Bach wrote for this particular instrument. Two keys, 3rd & 4th holes doubled. |

J.C. Denner Taille de Hautbois $2,400. (German, 1st half of the 18th century) This is a tenor oboe in the key of F that looks like a larger version of the normal oboe in C. It is used primarily in wind bands, and occasionally in orchestral music and cantatas. Two keys, 3rd & 4th holes doubled. |
