J.M. Anciuti Oboe

Anciuti, who worked in Milan, was an important oboe maker from this period. High pitched wind instruments were common there, sometimes playing at pitch, and sometimes transposing down a tone to play with low-pitched string ensembles. Many of Handel’s early Italian oboe parts were written with this kind of transposition in mind. Three keys, 3rd & 4th holes double.
J.C. Denner Oboe

This is another high-pitch instrument, the original of which is now in Venice, Italy. It is similar to the Anciuti, but with lighter, less prominent exterior turnings Two keys, 3rd & 4th holes doubled.
J.C. Denner Taille de Hautbois

This is a smaller version of the Denner taille listed above at a=415hz. Pitched in F at a=440hz, it can also be used as an instrument in G at a =392hz. Two keys, 3rd & 4th holes doubled.
